Modified on Mon, 8 Jan at 8:37 AM

We recommend against using Gmail or Android Mail, and against using the Outlook application.
 If you still want to set up your Outlook mail on your Gmail or Android Mail, follow the instructions below;

Before you start, update the Gmail app to the latest version:

Open the Google Play Store app on your phone or tablet.

Type " Gmail " in the search box and click Update .

Note: If the Update  option is not available, you already have the latest version.

Open the Gmail app.

Tap the menu icon (  ) in the top left corner > Settings  > Add account > Exchange & Microsoft 365 .

Important: DO NOT choose Outlook, Hotmail and Live unless you only want to sync email.

Enter your full email address and tap Next .

(shown here as "[email protected]")

Add your email address

Enter your password and tap Next .

Follow the steps for your account type:

 Outlook.com users: skip this step
For Exchange or other accounts, you may need to ask your IT administrator or email provider for server settings and set up the account manually.

Microsoft 365 work or school: You may see a Redirect Request screen. Tap OK .

Tap OK if you get a redirect request.

Change the server on the incoming email server settings screen to outlook.office365.com .

Follow any prompts for security or device permissions, sync settings, and more.

Click OK when you get a prompt.

If you have a Microsoft 365 or school account, you may also be asked to confirm remote security management and approve additional security measures. In this case, choose OK or Activate .

Go to the inbox you just set up.

If you see an email that says Action required for email sync ,

open it and tap Use a different email app .

Skip this step if you don't see this message and your email is syncing.

Click the link to enable sync
